Hi everyone,
The listserv has been down for several days. Looks like queued up
emails are finally showing up in our inboxes. Most import item: can
people make a July 13th call (10 AM PT)?

Hi Susan, as far as I can tell, none of my emails the last few days
to the APA Technology Division listserv ever reached leadership. I
tried to send out a conference call reminder and then this email when
it was clear nobody was responding to my reminder. At the very
bottom of this email is one of the error messages that showed up in
my inbox over the weekend.

Any advice?

Ken

Hi folks, we do not have a enough people to merit a call. Looks like
we have more time this year to get ready for APA National and the by-
rights sessions so I am not concerned meeting right away (see Susan
Turner's attached email regarding dates).

Can people commit to July 13th (same time) for our next conference call?

It would help if people can make a concerted effort to be part of our
leadership meetings.

More urgent:
1) We need a new name for the Technology Division's newsletter. I
will have Jocelyn set up a google document for brainstorming names.
Please visit and add your comments/preferences by next Wednesday!
2) We could use 1 or 2 more articles for this next issue on
environmental management and land use planning. Please send articles
or contacts to Jocelyn and jocelyn at placematters.org

Individual Items:

Lyle, can you call me about the website. Steve Kokotas called and is
interested in helping develop website offerings.

Jennifer, can you send out an email proposing the new structure and
timeline for this year's awards and student scholarship competition.

Gene, can you call me next week to discuss membership recruitment/
retainment strategies.

Thanks,

Ken

Jason -

Basically, we reviewed the Division National Conference Manual at
http://www.planning.org/divsmanual/index.htm

The next conference call is scheduled for the afternoon of July 11 - the
exact time and dial-in information will be distributed to all division
chairs and conference session proposal coordinators. The substance of
the call is described in the Conference Call section of the Session
Proposal Coordinators responsibilities at
http://www.planning.org/divsmanual/coordinator.htm

Click on each of the subjects and follow the links - schedule,
deadlines, coordinator responsibilities, tracks, division business
meetings and receptions, etc. Review and note all deadlines.

The new feature this year allows division members to submit their
proposals for by right sessions online and designate to which division
it should be submitted. The deadline for submitting proposals to
divisions is August 17. The division coordinator will receive all the
submissions for the division, review them, and choose the two for the
division's by rights by August 28. Any proposals not selected for the
division's sponsorship will automatically be considered in the general
submission pool. We are encouraging all divisions to use the online
submission site to gather the proposals for their by right sessions.

Once you and the division leaders have reviewed the manual, please use
the staff list in the manual to direct your questions (it's the last
item in the table of contents).

Jason, thanks for taking on this job again for 2008.
