 The conference will feature key note speaker Roger Waldon, FAICP - Author of “The Politics of Planning”. Mr. Waldon is a Senior Consultant in Clarion’s Chapel Hill office. Mr. Waldon served as Planning Director for the Town of Chapel Hill for 21 years, directing the Town’s comprehensive planning and growth management functions. Prior to his work for Chapel Hill, Mr. Waldon worked on regional initiatives as Director of Planning Programs for the Triangle J, Council of Governments, a regional planning organization based in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Mr. Waldon holds Planning Degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of North Carolina. He served as an elected official on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education, and continues his civic involvement by serving on local boards of Habitat for Humanity and the YMCA. He is a frequent speaker at national planning conferences, and has lectured on planning topics at Universities in
 Massachusetts and North Carolina. Mr. Waldon’s work was recognized in 2005 with his induction as a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
