Chicago Conference 2007
Chicago, IL, May 7th, 2007 - The 21st annual Transport
Chicago will be held on June 1st, 2007 from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. at the Illinois Institute of Technology Hermann
Union Building.
For more than two decades, the annual Transport
Chicago conference has brought together academics and
professionals from Chicagoland and beyond to learn
about current research in the transportation and
planning fields. The 2007 conference presents another
excellent opportunity to hear nationally recognized
transportation experts, debate recent issues in
planning and policy, and meet with more than 200 of
your colleagues. Professional Development Hour (PDH)
certificates will also be available.
The Transport Chicago Steering Committee invites you
to take part in the 22nd Annual Transport Chicago
conference, to be held at the Illinois Institute of
Technology campus in Chicago. Highlights of this
years conference include:
· Morning plenary speaker, Mr. Tom Norton, former
Executive Director of the Colorado Department of
Transportation (CDOT). Mr. Norton oversaw the agency
through an era of great expansion, including the T-REX
Project (Transportation Expansion), the nations
largest multi-modal design-build transportation
project.
· The lunch plenary, Perspectives on Public-Private
Partnerships, will feature a panel of experts who
will address their experiences with varying aspects of
successful public-private partnerships. Panel members
are slated to include representatives of financing
experts, engineering/contractors, and public agencies
who have been involved in public-private partnerships
in the region.
· Nine presentation sessions and a poster session will
cover a wide variety of transportation and
land-use-related topics, and winners in the student
paper competition are announced during lunch.
The general registration fee is $50 and the student
registration fee is $25 until May 18th, at which time
both fees will increase by $5. For more information

The Illinois Institute of Technology Hermann Union
Building is located at 3241 South Federal Street
Chicago, Illinois and is conveniently located within
walking distance of the CTA Red and Green Lines, and
numerous CTA bus routes.
Transport Chicago (formerly known as the Metropolitan
Conference on Public Transportation Research or
MCPTR), provides a forum for presenting and discussing
research on transportation and related issues. The
conference is held annually in Chicago, Illinois.
