The Illinois Chapter of the American Planning Association Pro Bono
Committee has been invited by the Community Arts Council of Kankakee
County (CAC) to assist them with feasibility activities related to a
possible arts center in downtown Kankakee. The CAC has an
opportunity to take ownership of two adjacent historic buildings as
a donation from a local developer. For more information, visit the

Bi-annual Chapter Elections! Any member that wants his or her name on the election ballot
must complete a
Nominating Petition and submit it to our Administrator,
Mark Koplin, AICP
by September 15, 2008. The Petition must include at least 100 Chapter
member signatures. During this election, we will also be asking you to
approve the updated
Chapter By-Laws. Ballots, along with bios and position statements, will be mailed in
late September/early October. The results will be announced by mid-December and
the new Board will take office on January 1st.
