HTML clipboardNow available on the 2009 Upper Midwest Conference
website: Centennial-amounts of information! Online registration will be
opening up shortly, but there’s much you can do right now. Book your room and
review all the mobile workshop sessions and social event offerings to get ready
to make the most of this once-in-hundred-year event, coming to a metropolis near
you September 24-26!
Hotel Reservations
- The Hyatt Regency
Chicago reservation system is live! If you are interested in a room,
be sure you use the link at
www.ilapa.org, or
mention "American Planning Association" when making your reservation. Insanely
low “downtown-Chicago” rates made possible through APA-IL’s generous room
subsidy mean rooms will go fast! There are only so many rooms available for
the subsidy, so book now!
Mobile Workshop
Descriptions – Over 40 mobile workshops sessions make up the core
of the conference experience, and are included with your registration at no
extra fee. But they have limited capacities, and require advance registration
to get into the ones you want to attend the most. Make your big plans now so
when online registration opens, you’ll be ready to jump on the ones you want.
Social Events
– Choose from 15 social events that celebrate the best of Burnham’s legacy,
including a dozen ethnic restaurant choices on Friday night in the
neighborhoods that tell Chicago’s story. Plan out your preferences now so you
are ready to purchase your ticket when you register.
The entire conference website is now informatively rotund,
at Burnham-esque proportions, to enable big plan-making. Need something to stir
your blood? Stop whatever you’re doing right now, turn up your speakers, and
watch the video on the
conference home page. Think Big!
