Call for Mobile Workshops
Submission Deadline August 3, 2012
As part of the APA National Planning Conference to be held April 13-17, 2013 in Chicago, the Mobile Workshops Committee is looking to create approximately 50 mobile workshops for conference attendees.
Program Objective
To create a diverse program of mobile workshops in terms of topic, mode of transportation, and geography.
Program Focus
We are looking for proposals that:
· Showcase best practices AND/OR lessons learned (workshops are intended to feature both the “highs” and “lows”)
· Provide a unique experience
· Would be perceived as a good value (cost vs. the experience)
· Are relevant and transferable
· Feature experts in the field who will provide an engaging workshop
Submittal Procedure and Requirements
· Applications must be submitted through APA’s website at http://www.planning.org/conference/index.htm
· Applications will be reviewed by the 2013 Mobile Workshops Committee and selected based on the stated criteria.
· In reviewing session proposals the Mobile Workshops Committee may suggest that proposals be amended, combined or augmented to meet program objectives and focus
· Applicants are asked to provide a presentation that goes beyond the basic facts to tell a deeper story regarding the challenges of the plan, project or program and how they were overcome
· In addition proposals will be evaluated based on:
o Overall quality and focus
o Completeness of proposal
o Appropriateness of mode of transportation
o Stated learning objectives
o Uniqueness and creativity
Thank you for making Chicago 2013 a success!
