A Unique Training Opportunity for Plan Commissioners
 
Plan Commissioner Training is an ongoing service of the APA-IL where commissioners are given the opportunity to learn more about planning, their place in the planning process, and tools of the trade. This is a chance to learn these concepts from experienced professionals, other than their own municipal staff, and discuss their distinctive responsibilities amongst themselves which allows them to gain confidence, knowledge, and perspective about their service. 

An opportunity for just this type of learning experience will be provided at this year's APA-IL State Conference on September 20, 2012. The full day training session will focus on plan commissioners but also is open to (and valuable for) those serving on boards, elected officials, and commissioners at the county level. 

If you are a planning professional, pass this information on to your commissioners and suggest they attend. If you’re a commissioner, make plans to attend – and bring a fellow commissioner or two.
