The 2014 Mobile Workshops Are Set!
Get excited for October! The 2014 APA-IL State Conference is going to
offer some amazing, local mobile workshops!
Town and Gown - How does a community work with a large private institution? How does that impact land use and the built environment? Tour Northwestern University's Evanston campus and visit recent & proposed projects.
To Be or Not To Be, Developed - How should iconic and landmark institutions be reused and redeveloped? Tour proposed projects in the Village of Wilmette and the City of Evanston.
Historic Preservation via Bicycle - Tour several local and federal historic districts via bike. These historic districts have contained multiple contentious projects that highlight the issue of how to integrate contextually-appropriate new development while maintaining property owner development rights.
City and Suburban Transit Redevelopment - Visit 3 different CTA stations with varying levels of development and redevelopment at and around the stations.
