Nebraska APA members,
Next Wednesday The City of Omaha Planning Department is hosting the
following web-cast listed below. The event will take place in our
conference room on the 11th floor of the City / County building at 1819
Farnam Street. This is short notice and maybe to far for some of you to
travel, but I welcome you if it fits your schedule. The event is worth
1.5 cm credits. We have about 8 spots left. Please let me know if you
can make it, so I can reserve your spot as they are limited.
In the future I will provide more notice when we have these events.
Additionally, I am working on a way we can organize our chapter to
provide our members as many certification maintenance opportunities as
possible. If you have any thoughts or ideas please let me know.
Thanks,
Derek
Mastering Density
February 13, 2008, 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
Density, long a goal of planning, can still be a hard sell in some
communities. In this program, presenters demonstrate how to achieve
density through design, as well as how to understand the economics of
density. Learn how density works with transportation and ultimately
affects sustainability. Examine density's effects and benefits. Gain
ideas on how to present the concept of density to achieve critical
buy-in.
