The City of Omaha Planning Department is hosting another webcast put on
by the American Planning Association. The details are below regarding
the webcast. I have about 10 open spots, so please RSVP by Noon on
Friday May 16, 2008.

What: Community-Based Brownfields Redevelopment

When: Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Where: City of Omaha Planning Department's Central Conference Room.

Description:

Too often, community groups and residents of low-income communities are
left out of the brownfield redevelopment process. Learn how to engage
community members so they can see the opportunities presented by
brownfield sites. Assess how community development corporations can play
a major role and find out how the community can weigh the costs of
brownfield redevelopment. Hear from community members as well as
technical experts. Co-sponsor: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

This program has been approved for 1.5 CM credits. AICP planners must
attend for the duration of the event, complete the sign-in sheet for the
site in case of audit, and claim the credits using the online log at
www.planning.org/cm.

If you have any questions please let me know.
