Older Commercial Corridors Revitalization Study
The City of Davenport, Iowa
Submittal Deadline: October 13, 2006

The City of Davenport (population 99,000), a community located in
eastern Iowa along the banks of the Mississippi River, the largest city
within a metropolitan area commonly known as the Quad Cities, is seeking
professional planning services to assist the City with the development
of plans for the revitalization of three older commercial corridors.
They are:

*	Brady and Harrison Streets are the major north-south principal
arterials serving the heart of the City, including Downtown.
Brady/Harrison is designated as U.S. Highway 61, and thus is maintained
and partially controlled by the Department of Transportation (IADOT).

*	Locust Street is approximately nine (9) miles in length and
serves as the major east-west arterial from the eastern edge of the City
(Kimberly Road at Bettendorf city limits) to the western border of the
City (Interstate 280).

*	Rockingham Road is an arterial street approximately seven miles
long and serves southwest Davenport.

The deadline for submittal of a proposal is October 13, 2006. In
advance of the deadline, City staff will be available for pre-submittal
conferences at 11:00 a.m. CDT on September 29, 2006 in City Hall, 226
