General Plan Update
Cedar City, Utah
Submittal Deadline: October 6, 2006
Cedar City, Utah is seeking a qualified consulting firm to assist in the
preparation of a comprehensive update to the City's General Plan. It is

and economically sound development of the City, by presenting viable
land use development options that provide a broad employment base, a
variety of housing types, a mixture of desirable commercial services,
and a functional park and trail scheme that are all supported by
efficient transportation and utility systems.
Cedar City is located along Interstate 15 in the southwestern portion of
Utah, approximately 2 1/2 hours north of Las Vegas and 3 1/2 hours south
of Salt Lake City. Though a smaller city of approximately 25,000
people, Cedar City is home to Southern Utah University (approx.
enrollment of 7,000), the Utah Summer Games, and to the Tony Award
winning <http://www.bard.org/> Utah Shakespearean Festival. The
community also serves as a major gateway access to several National Park
areas and many other scenic attractions that are located in Southern
Utah.
The RFP is available on line at <http://www.cedarcity.org/>
www.cedarcity.org, or can be obtained from the City by contacting the
