Chanute Strategic Redevelopment Plan
The Village of Rantoul, Illinois
Submittal Deadline: October 20, 2006

The Village of Rantoul, Illinois (the "Village"), is currently seeking
qualified muti-disciplinary firms or teams interested in partnering with
the community to create a strategic marketing and economic redevelopment
plan for the former Chanute Air Force Base.  Rantoul is located in
east-central Illinois, approximately twelve (12) miles north of
Champaign-Urbana (home of the University of Illinois) along Interstate
57 and US 45.  The Village of Rantoul is approximately 7.5 square miles
in size, in which the former base comprises approximately 3.4 square
miles.

The Village will be accepting qualifications until 5:00 p.m. CDT.,
Friday, October 20, 2006.  Qualification packages must be clearly marked
on the outside of the envelope CHANUTE STRATEGIC REDEVELOPMENT PLAN, and
shall be delivered to:  Mr. David W.  Johnston, Village Administrator,
Village of Rantoul 333 S. Tanner, Rantoul, Illinois 61866.
Qualifications received after the closing time will not be accepted and
will be returned unopened.

The RFQ (VRNTL-07-Q-0001) will be available starting  September 25, 2006
at the Rantoul Municipal Building, Department of Purchasing Room 208,
333 S. Tanner, Rantoul IL 61866.  For copies please contact Cedric L.

The Village will hold a pre-qualification briefing of the project on
Monday, October 2, 2006 at 3:00 PM CDT.  Those wishing to be part of
this briefing but can't attend must provide Mr. Thomas with a phone
number and e-mail address prior to that day so a conference call can be
arranged.  Otherwise, the meeting will be held at the Rantoul Municipal
Building Conference Room.

The Village of Rantoul reserves the right to reject any or all
qualifications and to waive any informalities.  No qualifications shall
be withdrawn after the opening without consent of the Village of
Rantoul, Illinois, for a period of sixty (60) days.
