Gordon Heights Land Use Plan, Generic Environmental Impact Statement (GEIS) and Associated Components

Please take notice that the Town of Brookhaven will electronically distribute to its Approved Consultant List and shall make available at the Department of Purchasing, Third Floor, Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738 a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued pursuant to the provisions of New York State General Municipal Law §120-w for the preparation of a Land Use Plan, GEIS and Associated Components for the Gordon Heights, New York Study Area.
The successful consultant will have substantial experience and knowledge in the development of municipal land use studies and plans, generic environmental impact statements, transportation planning, commercial and housing market analysis, environmental protection including transfer of development rights, municipal codes, and public participation. It is estimated that the project will span a period of 12-18 months. A budget of $180,000 is approved for the Project, funded through a NYS Quality Communities Grant and the Town of Brookhaven.
The RFP will be distributed electronically to the Town's Approved Consultant List by Friday November 30, 2007 and will be available for pick up at the Town's Purchasing Department (see address below). The RFP will also be posted on the Town's web site www.brookhaven.org <http://www.brookhaven.org/> .
Qualified consultants should submit one original, one electronic copy, and ten hard copies of proposals that detail relevant experience and a draft Work Plan that describes the methods that will be used to complete the tasks outlined in the RFP. A pre-submittal informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the Town of Brookhaven Planning Department, located on the first floor of Town Hall.
Final proposals must be received in Purchasing no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007. The consultant must be ready to initiate the project 30-days from the award of the Contract.
The Town of Brookhaven reserves the right to reject and declare invalid any or all proposals and waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received, all in the best interests of the Town. The Town of Brookhaven encourages minorities and women-owned business to participate in the procurement process.
