Request for Proposals - Consultant Services
Three Transportation Projects
The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization, Wyoming
Submittal Deadline: August 3, 2007
The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization is requesting proposals
for 3 new projects:
* Transportation Safety Management Plan,
* Corridor- Road and Intersection Design Project for E. Pershing
Boulevard, and
* 2007 Greater Cheyenne Greenway Extension Plan.
The Transportation Safety Management Plan for the Cheyenne Area will be
developed to address transportation related safety issues and provide
recommendations to increase transportation safety in the future. The
Plan will include a review of the current system of crash data
collection and identify what other transportation safety related data
that could be collected and updated in the future, identify possible
funding sources/or better utilize available funds to implement this
Plan, prepare a prioritized list of data to be collected, as well as
physical safety improvement programs that could be implemented.
The East Pershing Corridor - Road and Intersection Design Project will
develop long range solutions to improve the motorized and non-motorized
movements and safety within the E. Pershing Blvd. from Dunn Ave. to
Converse Ave. and the intersection of 19th St., E. Pershing Blvd. and
Converse Ave. The plan will be developed so as not to preclude and also
take into account forecasted conceptual plans for the redevelopment and
reconstruction within the study area. The consultant with be expected
develop a public relations program in order to obtain information about
neighborhood priorities and provide information about the project to the
public.
For the 2007 Greater Cheyenne Greenway Extension Plan, the Cheyenne
Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Greenway Advisory
Committee (GAC), and the Cheyenne Parks and Recreation Department have
selected three areas for the next planning phase. This preferred
Greenway alignment in the proposed areas needs to be studied closely to
assess feasibility, costs, and future planning needs. Design plans at
the 35% level will be developed for the Greenway segments identified for
construction in the proposed areas. The 35% design plans, estimated
costs, and report will enable the GAC and Parks & Recreation Department
to pursue funding for final design and construction by means of a
Specific Purpose Tax.
Submit six (6) complete copies by Friday, August 3, 2007, by 5:00 pm in
the City Municipal Building, 2101 O'Neil Ave., Room 205, Cheyenne, WY
