Comprehensive Plan Preparation
The City of Statesboro, Georgia
Submittal Deadline: July 9, 2007

The City of Statesboro (2005 population of 26,534 and a land area of 33
square miles) in southeast Georgia is seeking a consultant to prepare a
comprehensive plan.  The last plan was adopted in 1992 and the city has
undergone significant changes since then.  During that time the
population has increased by 67% and the incorporated land area has
doubled.  Statesboro is home to Georgia Southern University, one of the
fastest growing universities in the Southeast with an enrollment of over
16,000.

Proposals are due July 9, 2007.  A contract for this project is expected
to be approved no later than August 21, 2007.   The Georgia Department
of Community Affairs has set a recertification date of June 30, 2009 for
the City.  The consultant must complete the project and obtain the
necessary approvals so the recertification date is met.
