Streetscape Improvement Project - Phase I
The City of Mount Clemens, Michigan
Submittal Deadline: March 30, 2007 

RFP #07-0222-01

The City of Mount Clemens, MI Downtown Development Authority is
accepting sealed proposals for design services for the Downtown Mount
Clemens Streetscape Improvement Project - Phase I (DMCSIP1). The project
will include total replacement of the downtown streetscape and paving
along Macomb Pl. from Southbound Gratiot Ave. to Northbound Gratiot
Ave., a walkway continuing down to the Clinton River, and the street
right-of-way and sidewalks along Cherry St. from Market St. to the
Roskopp Municipal Parking Lot. The project contains a total improvement
area of approximately 141,601 square feet.

Proposals will be accepted until Friday, 30 March 2007 at 2:00 PM (Local
Time) at the offices of the Mount Clemens DDA, 49 Macomb Pl.  Suite 30,
Mount Clemens, MI 48043. The selection committee will announce its
decision on or around Friday, May 11, 2007. The selected consultant will
be required to submit the final design and construction bid plans to the
Mount Clemens DDA no later than 15 August 2007.

The location of the DMCSIP1 lies directly in the heart of Downtown Mount
Clemens' most prominent retail, dining and entertainment area.  This
project will support the creation of pedestrian loops around the
downtown that enhance quality of life and desirability for new economic
development in the downtown district. Project design must support
municipal efforts in building a vibrant, lively, and healthy downtown
district.

Planned funding for this project will be a mixture of municipal bonds,
M-DOT SAFETEA Transportation Enhancement dollars, and private donations.
The Macomb Pl. streetscape must be designed to function as a pedestrian
and bikeway connection from the Bath City Art Park at the Anton Art
Center to Main St. and the proposed bikeway along Main St. while
complying with AASHTO design standards.
