Request for Qualifications - Consultant Services

Design Competition
The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District, Washington, D.C.
Submittal Deadline: May 25, 2007

The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (GTBID) invites
qualified providers of architecture and urban design services to submit
qualifications to participate in a design competition focused on the
streetscape and public realm of Connecticut Avenue NW in the GTBID.

The GTBID is a private non-profit corporation that works to provide a
clean, safe and friendly environment for area workers and visitors, and
to retain and attract businesses to the Central Business District. As
the GTBID looks forward to celebrating its 10-year anniversary and
renewing its charter, it is developing a strategy for establishing
Connecticut Avenue as a regional retail destination through economic
development and streetscape design. To this end, GTBID is coordinating a
limited-entry streetscape design competition, which will result in a
public realm plan for Connecticut Avenue NW.

Through this RFQ, GTBID seeks to pre-qualify up to five (5) design firms
or design teams to participate in the design competition. The selected
participants would create a schematic design entry (about 30% design)
for the GTBID to be able to make a selection of a winner. The winner of
the design competition will, subject to funding availability, then have
the opportunity to provide professional architecture and design services
for developing the public realm and streetscape design plan to about 75%
design.

Responses to the RFQ are due to the GTBID by 4PM on May 25, 2007.
