Joint Land Use Study
The City of Knob Noster, Missouri
Submittal Deadline: July 2, 2007
The City of Knob Noster, on behalf of the Whiteman Air Force Base JLUS
Policy Committee, seeks a consultant to perform professional land use
planning services. This is to be funded by the Department of Defense,
Office of Economic Adjustment.
The DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS is July 2, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. The Requests
for Proposals should be sent to the City of Knob Noster, 218 N. State
Street, Knob Noster, MO, 65336, Attention: Doug Kermick. Please submit
three (3) copies of your Proposal.
The Consultant will identify current and long-term concerns and impacts
for Whiteman Air Force Base and the surrounding civilian communities and
counties. The Consultant will make non-binding recommendations as to
how to eliminate or lessen those impacts.
Consultants that are interested in providing this service are invited to
submit proposals conforming to the requirements outlined herein.
Taking into consideration the community and military land use planning
interests, the primary objectives for the study are as follows:
* To encourage cooperative land use planning between Whiteman Air
Force Base and the surrounding areas so that future growth and
development are compatible with the training and/or operational mission
of the installation
* To seek cooperative means to anticipate and minimize impacts of
military operations on adjacent lands and the surrounding area
