ABOUT SCAG
Over the past four decades, the Southern California Association of
Governments (SCAG) has evolved as the largest of nearly 700 councils of
government in the United States, functioning as the Metropolitan
Planning Organization (MPO) for six counties: Los Angeles, Orange, San
Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura and Imperial.

As the designated MPO, SCAG is mandated by the federal government to
research and put together plans for transportation, growth management,
hazardous waste management, and air quality.

SCAG relies heavily on outside consultants and vendors to help
accomplish the overall mission and objectives of SCAG. We are always
striving to increase the breadth and depth of talent in our pool of
potential consultants and vendors, and are especially interested in
bringing more certified DBEs into the database.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
There is a need for an analysis of the transportation conditions on
Forrester Road to identify mobility and interregional connectivity
improvement needs and the possibility of upgrading the facility.  Based
on the 2003 Imperial Valley Association of Governments' (IVAG) "Study of
Imperial Valley, California: Economic Development Highways Initiative"
prepared for the Federal Highway Administration, it was found that
infrastructure improvements such that of Forrester Road will have
direct, indirect and induced positive economic impact on the IVAG
region.
