I-355 Corridor Study
The City of Lockport, Illinois
Submittal Deadline: December 7, 2007
Introduction
Lockport is a fast growing community with a lot of available land along
the new I-355 expansion. The City is fortunate to have two interchanges
within the community and a growing population with an under served
commercial & office base. The City of Lockport is seeking qualified
consultants to submit statements of qualifications to perform a corridor
study and recommendations for updates to the comprehensive plan
specifically along this corridor.
Scope of Work
For the purposes of this project, the study area is bounded by the area
along the I-355 Extension adjacent to Lockport. It is the City's intent
to expedite completion of this project in an efficient manner.
An analysis of the existing conditions (market, transportation and
physical) is an expected starting point for this process. The analysis
will be the foundation for the design and land-use guidelines.
Expected Deliverables are as follows:
* An analysis of existing conditions:
* Marketing analysis and potential uses for developable
land
* Road Infrastructure/Traffic
* Physical inventory of existing conditions
* Design and Land-Use Guidelines which will act as the foundation
for an updated comprehensive plan.
The purpose of this project is to assist the Lockport Planning
Department in guiding development along this corridor and to ensure the
highest and best use. The consultant will be responsible for providing
community workshops and public input sessions if necessary, a market
analysis study, a final report, and a presentation to the City of
Lockport Council members. The City of Lockport has authorization to hire
out for this Corridor study. This project is time sensitive and must be
completed as soon as possible.
Consultant Qualifications
The candidate firm must be a consulting firm or team with proven
expertise in consensus building and creating development strategies. In
addition familiarity with the area such as the development and economic
trends in the County of Will and neighboring communities to Lockport.
