Request for Qualifications - Consultant Services

City Center Master Plan
The Cities of Augusta, Georgia and North Augusta, South Carolina
Submittal Deadline: November 23, 2007

Brief Description
Augusta Tomorrow, Inc. on behalf of itself, the City of Augusta, Georgia
and the City of North Augusta, South Carolina is requesting
qualifications from consultants for professional planning services to
develop a new master plan for the greater downtown area.

Background
There have been a series of master plans covering all or part of the
central city area dating back to 1982. It is now desired to take a fresh
look at the urban core that includes the city center of Augusta, Georgia
and North Augusta, South Carolina to develop a vision for its future
over the next fifteen to twenty years. While it is proposed to build
upon the previous master plans, these documents will be used only as
history.

Professional Requirements
The firm and design team selected must have specialized experience in
preparing regional master plans, and with specific experience in urban,
downtown, waterfront, historic, and economic development projects. The
planning and proposed development work must also be sensitive to
ecological, environmental, floodplain, market, and archeological issues.
Of major importance in selecting a planning team will be the proven
ability of the team to provide a planning implementation strategy.

Further Information
The entire RFQ which contains submittal requirements, proposal specifics
and additional information, may be obtained on the Resources page of the
Augusta Tomorrow, Inc., website, www.augustatomorrow.org
