Request for Proposals - Consultant Services
Advance Planning Public Participation Facilitator
The City of Scottsdale, Arizona
Submittal Deadline: November 1, 2007
The City of Scottsdale Advance Planning, Policy, and Design Division of
the Planning and Development Services Department is inviting qualified
respondents to submit a written response to this Request for Proposals
(RFP). This request shall result in contracting with a Planning and
Public Participation Facilitator to assist city staff in conducting two
workshops and creating customized public participation plans for two
distinct community planning areas of the City.
One workshop would be completed in February 2008 for the Southern
Scottsdale Community Area and the other workshop would be completed in
April 2008 for the Greater Airpark Community Area. These workshops will
be the first public workshops associated with the Community Area Plans.
They will serve as the foundation for the Vision/ Goals/ Objectives
Element. The workshops will be a valuable tool for laying the
groundwork for the development of a formal plan. For more information
on Community Area Planning, please refer to the attached RFP or the
staff report located on the City of Scottsdale webpage at:
http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/planning/areaplans.asp
<http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/planning/areaplans.asp> .
Crucial to the success of these long range plans is broad-based public
involvement. The public participation plans should outline how the City
could actively engage the citizens in identifying the community's goals,
priorities and aspirations with regard to Southern Scottsdale and
Greater Airpark Community Areas. These plans should include outreach
mechanisms to increase awareness and bring community groups, leaders and
citizens together to generate a common community vision.
Respondents are invited to present themselves for consideration in the
selection of an experienced, knowledgeable and innovative organization
to create a public participation plan and lead the first workshops.
Proposals are due by 3:00 pm on November 1, 2007. Late proposals will
not be considered. To request a complete copy of the RFP please use the
