Economic Development Strategy For Growth Centers
The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission

Request for Proposals (RFP 28-193)
The Prince George's County Planning Department of The Maryland-National
Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), hereinafter referred to
as "the Commission" is soliciting proposals for consultant services to
draft a comprehensive master plan for Subregion 4 located in Central
Prince George's County. The project area is bordered by US 50 (John
Hanson Highway) to the north, the District of Columbia to the west,
Suitland Parkway to the south and I-495 to the east.
The purpose of the master plan is to implement the goals and policy
recommendations of the 2002 Prince George's County Approved General Plan
1 to improve the quality of life within the county's established
communities, promote mixed use development along transportation
corridors and at targeted centers and nodes, encourage local economic
development, and protect environmentally sensitive areas. The
development of the final master plan will be the conclusion of three
main tasks to be contracted separately:
The Consultant will prepare Economic Development Strategy for the 2002
General Plan's designated Growth Centers within the area. The selected
firm will be responsible for assessing existing and future development
potentials of these centers incorporating public and key stakeholders'
input.
