Pedestrian Bridge
The City of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Submittal Deadline: March 10, 2008
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City of Oklahoma City has a certain
Capital Improvement project that requires the services of a consulting
firm.
In order to be considered, the Consultant must comply with the
Resolution establishing procedure for "Selection of Architects,
Engineers, and Planners" adopted by the City Council on November 18,
1986, a copy of which may be obtained at

from the office of the Public Works Department Director.
The Project is as follows: Project No. BC-0180, Pedestrian Bridge over
I-40 in the vicinity of S.W. 9th Street and Harvey Avenue.
Estimated Project Cost - $3,300,000.
The pedestrian bridge (30 feet wide and 440 feet long) will be
constructed over the new, semi-depressed section of 10-lane interstate
highway and the BN&SF Railroad, on the south edge of downtown Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma. The City is seeking a design that is iconic in its
presentation to both freeway and bridge users. The bridge is a pivotal
element in the City's efforts to provide a strong pedestrian connection
between the downtown core and the Oklahoma River (see Core to Shore Plan
at www.okc.gov <http://www.okc.gov> ).
Firms selected for further consideration (finalists) will be requested
to produce a conceptual bridge design along with a model of the design.
The City will contract with each finalist providing a stipend of $10,000
for the design work. Finalists will have sixty (60) days to complete
concept designs, after which they will be required to present their
concept designs to the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will
recommend a firm to City Council for a contract.

The selection committee shall evaluate firms submitting Letters of
Interest and qualifications based on the following criteria:
* Experience and Skill. Demonstration of architectural,
engineering, and design experience on similar projects.
* Professional Qualifications. Demonstration of relevant
experience and qualifications for all persons in the development team
that will be actively engaged in the project.
* Record of Past Performance. Demonstration of experience in
successful performance of similar tasks. The proposer is required to
illustrate how projects were successful and how these experiences are
significant to the successful fulfillment of the requirements of this
request. Examples of previous relevant work and references may be
requested.
The City may request the submission of additional information to assist
in its evaluation. Please include a 254 Form with your Letter of
Interest.
Time Schedule for the above project: Preliminary Report/Preliminary
Plans required within sixty (60) days and Final Plans and Specifications
within ninety (90) days of the issuance of the Work Order. Last date for
submitting Letter of Interest (eight (8) copies of letter and all
attachments) to the Public Works Department Director, 420 W. Main
Street, Suite 700, Oklahoma City, OK 73102: prior to 5:00 p.m., March
10, 2008.
