The AICP Commission requests that entities soliciting planning
consultants follow a two-part RFQ/RFP selection procedure. Here's the

Downtown Anchorage Seismic Risk Assessment and Land Use Regulations to
Mitigate Seismic Risk

The Municipality of Anchorage is soliciting proposals from qualified
consultants to conduct a seismic risk assessment for the downtown area.
This assessment will:
* evaluate the estimated impacts of a major earthquake on
hypothetical development in the downtown study area;
* determine the level of risk associated with locating various
types of development within existing mapped seismically-induced ground
failure hazard zones; and,
* prepare recommended draft land use regulations for downtown
which would mitigate the estimated impacts and risks of a major
earthquake event.
