The AICP Commission requests that entities soliciting planning
consultants follow a two-part RFQ/RFP selection procedure.  Here's the

Central Corridor Master Plan
The City of Marion, Iowa
Submittal Deadline: July 17, 3008
The City of Marion is requesting qualifications from a consultant team
to create a Central Corridor Master Plan for Marion's 7th Avenue / US
Highway 151 project area. Key components to the plan will include:
*	Conduction a traffic analysis with recommendations that address
circulation issues for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic along the
project area; 
*	Developing an overall design and streetscape theme for the area.
The focus will be primarily on public right-of-way; however the City
wishes to gain insight on recommendations to encourage a unified
building design theme. Ultimately, the goal will be to establish an
overall design theme and to create a unique sense of place in the
community. 
Upon its completion, the redevelopment plan will be the foundation for
future redevelopment and become the basis for future planning and land
use decisions in the corridor. In addition, proposed improvements and
associated engineers estimate of probable costs will provided a basis
for future City investments in the corridor and set a strategy for
external fund procurement efforts.
