[Healthycommunitycoalition] Survey results and next steps

Hello Everyone,

Thanks to all those who filled out the survey.  I compiled the results
and summarized them in the excel table (attached).  Make sure to look at
all four tabs and not just the first one.  If you weren't able to
respond to the survey, but would still like your information included,
please send it out to the listserv or Katy Schneider, APA's Government
Relations Associate at kschneider at planning.org.

 

It was exciting to see that there was quite a bit of overlap in
interests and policies that our organizations can build on -
particularly the upcoming SAFETEA-LU Reauthorization, the Climate Change
bill, and a Call to Action.  Please feel free to share your thoughts
about the results and potential action steps with this listserv.

 

Based on these results, it was our feeling that it would definitely be
worth having another meeting to talk about action steps.  If you are NOT
interested in attending this meeting, please email Katy.  Over the next
couple of weeks, she'll work on pulling a common time and date together
to meet.

 

Finally, I wanted to let you know that today is my last day at APA.  I
couldn't resist the opportunity to work on these kinds of issues at the
local level, so I'm moving to the Alexandria Health Department/City of
Alexandria where I will be working as the Health Planner.  APA is still
dedicated to the issues that this coalition is working on.  Jason Jordan
and Katy Schneider will continue moving forward this agenda.
